Sergej Taneyev

13.07.1856, Wladimir - 06.07.1915, Djutkowo

Taneyev is known as the composition teacher of Rachmaninoff, Glière and Scriabin. His Piano Quintet Op.30 and Piano Trio Op.22 remain popular chamber music compositions to this day. The Prelude & Fugue in G sharp minor Op.29 from 1910 is his best-known composition for solo piano .. Very worth listening! Taneyev's Piano Concerto was first performed in 1998.
