“I have always been attracted and fascinated by the magic of music. Equally, singing has been and always will be the most familiar, most beautiful and most expressive instrument to me.” Mojca Vedernjak

With a wide repertoire of styles from baroque to contemporary, the mezzo-soprano Mojca Vedernjak is as comfortable on the opera stage as she is in the concert hall. From 1999 to 2003 she was engaged by Theater Bielefeld. Now freelance, she has appeared at various European opera houses and opera festivals. Her appearances include such roles as Angelina / La Cenerentola, Rosina / Il barbiere di Siviglia, Doralice / La Gazzetta, Contessa Melibea / Il viaggio a Reims, Hänsel / Hänsel und Gretel, Dorabella / Cosi fan tutte, Cherubino / Le nozze di Figaro, Idamante / Idomeneo, Cecilio / Luccio Silla, Charlotte / Werther, Marguerite / La Damnation de Faust and Carmen / Carmen.

Mojca Vedernjak has given numerous concert performances including most notably with the Slovenian Philharmonic, the Orchestre National de Lorraine, the Orchestre National de Lille, Janacek Philharmonic, the Bielefelder Philharmonic, Zurich Chamber Orchestra and the Swiss Chamber Orchestra with renowned conductors Stefan Asbury, Monica Buckland, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Howard Griffiths, Michael Hofstetter, Dirk Kaftan, Peter Kuhn, Uroš Lajovic and Jacques Mercier.
