„Basel Komponiert“
With "Basel komponiert", the Duo Urrestarazu - Lenzin presents a multi-faceted album of new music from Basel.
Both the "Sonata" for saxophone and piano (2020) by Jost Meier and the composition "Samuel der Weise Wise" (2021) by Marcelo Nisinman were written for the Duo Urrestarazu - Lenzin and premiered in Basel in 2021.
"Introduktion und Aria" for saxophone solo (2003/2020) - originally composed for clarinet - was newly arranged by Balz Trümpy for Elisa Urrestarazu. The work is recorded here for the first time. The "4 Images" (2009) for piano by Jost Meier are also a first recording.
The program is completed with the "Quattro Pezzi" (1959) for piano and "Prismes" (1975) for saxophone by Jacques Wildberger, who could have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2022.
The album "Basel komponiert" will be released in summer.
